What Are Extreme Sports and Why Try Them

Posted on June 10, 2016 By

sp1An extreme sport (also known as an action sport) is a general, somewhat hazily-defined term for any of several newer sports involving adrenaline-inducing action. They often feature a combination of speed, height, danger and spectacular stunts. Levels of danger vary widely, but there is always an element – an “extreme” factor – that causes an adrenaline rush which keeps participants loyal to their sport. Some participants termed ‘adrenaline junkies’ develop an obsession with their sport and even claim to be “addicted to adrenaline”. (This is the result of a misnomer, since often the high obtained is a product of increased levels of dopamine endorphins and serotonin).

Extreme sports are most often pursued by young adults who wish to push their own limits of fear and physical ability, and in doing so, also help to push the limits of their sport as a whole. Because of this youthful demographic, extreme sports often attract their own kind of youth culture with associated clothing fashions and music. Indeed, the distinction between an extreme sport and a conventional sport is often as much due to marketing as the

Millions of bright young people around the world enroll in colleges and universities to get an education they hope will enrich their lives and help them to start a successful career. All of these students are enhancing their career potential. However, students enrolled at a golf school are taking particular advantage of a relatively new entry into the college market. The oldest golf college in the United States has been providing accredited degrees for less than forty years while there have been traditional colleges in the U.S. for over three hundred years.

What makes golf academies such a unique choice compared to more traditional colleges or universities? They are the only colleges that are formally recognized and accredited that offer Associates Degrees or Bachelors Degrees that focus solely on a particular sport. There are no baseball academies or football academies that focus on providing students with a quality college education while improving the students’ baseball or football skills.

Why are there golf academies when no other sports have led to the establishment of colleges? It’s partly because golf is by far the most popular sport in

Interesting Facts About Qatar Sports

Posted on June 10, 2016 By

Qatar is sometimes called the “Olympic paradise” in the world. In this Arab country you can feel the Olympic atmosphere: many children competing in athletics, tennis, football, volleyball, basketball, karate, gymnastics and judo. Cylist legend Eddy Merckx said, “Qatar as a country pushes for sport. No other country in the world is doing what Qatar is doing for sport – especially for kids. As a child, sport is a great school of life. It shows you that just talent is not enough – you also have to work very hard. If you’re a lawyer, you stay a lawyer for life. As a sportsman or sportswomen, you have to start every season at the beginning again. It’s hard to become the best, but it’s even more difficult to stay the best year after year.” Certainly, Qatar – it is about the size of Hawaii- has one of the best sporting systems outside of the industrialized world.

The Arab athlete Saif Saaeef Shaheen won the gold medal in the 3,000m steeplechase at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris, France. There were celebrations for Qatar, after he won the gold medal. Saif Saaeef Shaheen wrote history for Qatar

Defining the World of Extreme Sports

Posted on May 8, 2016 By

Extreme sports have been growing in popularity for many years now. Multiple activities fall into this category of intense sports with high levels of inherent danger. Defining the world of extreme athletics can be tough to do since there are so many different activities included under this term. Still, it is safe to say that pretty much all of them involve a high degree of speed, danger, special gear, and physical and mental exertion. These sports certainly are not for the faint of heart. People seeking thrills are the ones that flock to these intense and adrenaline packed activities.

It is debatable as to exactly which sports can be classified as extreme sports. We can get a pretty good idea of the types of activities included in this category by looking at some of the common elements that most extreme sports share. Athletes involved in this field tend to face more adverse challenges. Traditional athletes have to compete against other people, but extreme athletes go up against other environmental obstacles and uncontrollable variables such as weather conditions and terrain surface.

Weather and terrain play especially big roles in most extreme sports. While conditions can be

Reasons to Avoid Extreme Sports

Posted on May 7, 2016 By

People advertise extreme sport events and courses like it’s something safe and cool you want to do. Ha! But it’s not! It’s not like learning to play chess or watching a cool movie, not at all.

Here is why:

1. You can get injured or die.
It may sound very convincing that the rate of people who die in car accidents is higher than the rate of those who die from parachute jump. But no matter what stats they show you, the truth is one – you can die or at least get seriously injured when practicing extreme sports. It happens all the time.

And you know of course, those who don’t do such stupid things live forever.

2. It will cost you money.
Every extreme sport requires some equipment. For some sports like skateboarding it’s cheaper, for some like scuba diving it’s more expensive – but without exception, practicing extreme sports will cost some of your hard earned money.

Isn’t it much better idea to spend your money on fashion branded t-shirts or cool tech gadgets?

3. It takes time.
More often than not practicing an extreme sport requires you to

Why Should Children Join A Sports Academy

Posted on May 6, 2016 By

We all want our kids to play. Playing is an integral part of growing up. But children may face following problems if they play without adult supervision:

1. Bullying: This problem is faced by children who are younger than other kids in the group.

2. No open space: If one is staying in an independent house there will not be enough space for kids to run around and play games like soccer, tennis or cricket.

3. Lack of interpersonal skills to deal with other kids: Sometimes a child does not know how to deal with other kids. This problem is more if he comes from a nuclear family. This may result in frequent fights among kids requiring parental intervention. Parental intervention, in turn may result in fights among parents, making matter worse.

So what do we do? How can we make sure that our kids enjoy childhood play safely?

We want our children to play with kids of their age, have fun, and develop physical and interpersonal skills. A very plausible solution would be to make your child join a sports academy. Nowadays there are sports complexes in almost all neighborhoods.

What Makes A Country Into A Sporting

Posted on April 4, 2016 By

This year sees the Beijing Olympics take place in august. The sporting world will be a buzz of anticipation as it waits to see who will win the major sporting medals and what stories or triumph over adversity will surface. Hopefully this version of the Olympics will be free from the drug scandals that seem to go hand in hand with all major sporting events nowadays and hopefully countries and athletes will be able to leave their political points of view behind them to give us the best possible Olympics, one remembered for events on and around the track rather than off it. No doubt we will have the same countries competing for the lion’s share of the medals with a few success stories from athletes from the smaller countries. But forgetting about the odd sports person that goes against the grain what is it that makes certain countries better at sports and athletics than other countries.

Different countries approach sporting events in different ways, for instance the former Eastern Bloc countries of East Germany and USSR felt that it was in the political interest of their country to try to be seen to be supremely
